Marvellous Journey creates a rotational procession with some typical characters from different cultures, civilisations, religions and time periods by light and shadow, letting viewers participate in this journey that mixed with the past and the present time.

From a participants’ view, rotating the installation by themselves makes them feel like walking into these shadow pictures which are full of surroundings. However, viewers around it have a wider field of vision than participants. They see the shadows from characters of installation’s outer cover and also from participants. It is entirely another sense of this work, looks like they are walking together in whole space and time.

This installation also performs an experiment of light and shadow. Different amounts of light produce different effects; they create different possibilities and experiences for an audience.
